This free Twitch chat overlay puts your live chat on stream, styled the way you want. Type your channel name, pick a theme, and add a clean transparent chat widget to OBS as a browser source. It shows real messages with colored usernames and 7TV and BTTV emotes, so viewers can follow the conversation right on your video. No bot account — it connects to public chat straight from your browser.

How to add the chat overlay to OBS

Enter your Twitch channel to preview the live chat, pick a look, text size and position, then press Copy OBS link (or open the OBS view in a new tab to test it). In OBS, add a Browser Source, paste the link and size it to your scene (a tall box like 420 × 760 works well). The overlay connects to your channel's chat automatically and scrolls new messages in — with a transparent background so it sits over your gameplay or webcam.

    Themes & emotes

Start from 51 ready-made looks or build your own from 20 message styles, 5 layouts (list, bubbles, columns, ticker and spotlight), 16 fonts and 15 color palettes. Add role badges, highlights for mentions and first-time chatters, and animated cards for subs, raids and bits.

Twitch emotes plus global and channel 7TV, BTTV and FFZ emotes render inline, so chat looks just like it does on Twitch. Deleted messages, timeouts and bans disappear from the overlay automatically.

    No bot, no Twitch permissions

The overlay reads public chat anonymously, so there is nothing to authorize on Twitch and no bot account to set up. To get your OBS link you sign in to Bregvorn once (free, with Twitch or Kick). Your design comes with you, and OBS itself never needs a login.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I add a Twitch chat overlay to OBS?

Enter your channel, style it, press Copy OBS link, then add it in OBS as a Browser Source. It connects to your chat and updates live with a transparent background.

Does it show 7TV and BTTV emotes?

Yes. Twitch emotes plus the global and your channel's own 7TV, BTTV and FFZ emotes render inline in the chat, just like on Twitch.

Do I need to log in or add a bot?

No bot is needed. You sign in to Bregvorn once (free, with Twitch or Kick) to get your OBS link, and your design comes with you. The overlay then reads your public chat anonymously, so OBS never asks for a login.

    Is the background transparent?

Yes, the OBS view has a transparent background so only the chat messages show over your scene.

Can I move the chat to a different corner?

Yes. Pick bottom-left, bottom-center, bottom-right, top-left, top-center or top-right. The messages gather on that side of the browser source and line up with it.
